Chapter 01
Conventional full dentures vs. immediate full dentures
Conventional full dentures are fitted after the gums and jawbone have healed from any extractions, which can take a few months. The wait means the fit is taken against tissue that has already settled into its final shape.
Immediate full dentures go in right after extraction, so there is no period without teeth. The trade-off is that the jaw keeps changing shape as it heals, so immediate dentures need follow-up adjustments along the way to keep fitting well.

Partial dentures
A partial denture replaces one or more missing teeth without touching the ones still standing. It functions in some ways like a bridge, filling the gap and restoring the bite, but it is not fixed in place the way a bridge is.
That makes a partial removable for cleaning, which is worth knowing going in since the day-to-day handling is different from a fixed bridge.
Chapter 03
Keeping them fitting
Dentures need regular brushing, the same as natural teeth would, to keep them clean and free of buildup. When they are out of the mouth, store them in room-temperature water or a proper cleaning solution.
Never use hot water. It warps them, and a warped denture stops fitting the way it was made to. If a denture starts feeling loose or uneven, that is worth a call rather than waiting it out.
